Do you know the feeling you get when you decide to go for a dream? The nervous feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you make that first investment, whether it be mentally, or financially? That was me when I first decided I wanted to be more than someone that loved taking pictures. I wanted to do photography. I wanted to give it my all. To do this, I needed to purchase the equipment. Taking that plunge was huge and scary. I couldn't imagine people would actually pay me to do something I truly loved doing. Impossible.
Which brings me to why I am rambling about my beginnings as a photographer. Val, Jamie's mother, was one of the first people to contact me about taking photographs. I couldn't believe it. I was beyond excited. Somebody actually wanted me to take pictures! Needless to say, I was pretty nervous that day. I must not have done too badly because I was asked to do Jamie's wedding.
Jamie & Justin were married at the New Brighton United Methodist Church. Sadly, Jamie's wedding was the last wedding to take place in this church. I was told the church is going to be sold. Fortunately, the day was only chilly considering it was the end of November. Everyone was a great sport during the photoshoot outside. I had a blazer on and I was cold. I couldn't imagine how Jamie and the girls felt.
Jamie & Justin, all the best!!!!

Here is one of my favorites from the day.
And another. I could have shot these two all day long. Everywhere I looked there was a photo opportunity.
Some detail shots.
You would not believe how many people it took to get Jamie into her shoes.
I know I always talk about how I like to shoot with another photographer. It is because you can get shots like these. Beth took this one behind the scenes.
While I caught it from the front.
Jamie checking out her new bling.
I have to send out a HUGE thanks to Heather and Beth for helping me out tonight so I could leave early to attend my... gulp...25th class reunion. Heather, I like to call her "The Heather" because she is just plain fabulous. You have to check out her work. Seriously. Not only is she unbelievably talented, she was the first one to offer to help me get started. I couldn't believe how open and willing to share she was. She made a special trip to the reception to cover for me so I could leave. Beth helps me more than she will ever know. I tend to get quite nervous before weddings, she helps to calm my nerves. Be sure to click on Beth's link to see her video of the event!
Here is a shot that Heather took and processed. Love the hand detail. I also like that the photo shows some of Jamie's glitter on her back.
Ummm...boys...what is this all about? Do they ever grow up? Hope not.
This picture made me chuckle. I remembered this jug. It was full when I left.
Check back next week to see Jamie & Justin's online gallery!
